November 2009
The Turkey Doubles tournament is in full swing. The mixed doubles event was held the weekend of November 14-15. A fun time was had by all. We had a great turnout and several turkeys were presented to the winners. Stay tuned to see the winners of the turkeys and who were presented with the traditional cans of Spam. The women's and men's doubles will be held the weekend of November 21-22. The mixed doubles players were served a great lunch by Connie & Ron. As usual, it was enjoyed by all. |

December 2009
Our annual Holiday/Christmas party will be held on December 10th at the Chelsea Resturant. In addition to a great meal, good fellowship, dancing along with the DJ - Creative Music Entertainment, we will be treated to "Freda's Faulous Floor Show". The theme will be "Dancing With The Stars", and of course, the stars will be our own Harbour Town Racquet Club Members. We will have pictures and updates on the website by the middle of December.

September 2009
Our Senior Mixed Doubles 6.0 team ended the season in first place, competing in the local summer league competition. The team will play in Wilson, NC for the State Championship on September 18 - 20. This team has a good chance to win the State Title. We wish them all the best. Check our Current Events next month as look for the final results.

| The Craven County Tri-League begins the fall season on September 16th. This competition is for players rated 3.0 through 4.0. We have a number of our members playing in this league. |

October 2009
The Fall League Season is now underway. Harbour Town Racquet Club has teams in all divisions and we look forward to some great tennis competition. Fall is such a nice time of the year to have the opportunity to play at local tennis clubs and enjoy the competition and friendly rivalry. Following are the teams that will be competing:

24th Annual Memorial Doubles Tournament
A total of 66 players entered the tournament; some in two events for a total of 86 entrants. 52 matches were played over the three day weekend, which was slowed slightly on Saturday due to a smattering of rain. In the 52 matches played, there were 16 third-set tie breaks played.
Not only was the tournament fun, but it was also competitive in a friendly way. There was no state championship at stake, nor a big prize, but everyone played well and and I think had a good time.
This tournament is dear to Ron's heart and he was pleased with the number of members who participated. We had a few players from outside the club, but not many, so it was mostly a home club event. There were some surprises and some great matches; all told an extremely nice weekend.
Thank you to all members for participating, playing, helping out, and cheering for their favorite player this weekend.
